Ride China

新年快乐! Happy year of the dragon!

I'll be honest, I didn't have high expectations for the snow scene in China. I doubt many people from America would. However, back in December, I had the opportunity to ride two local Beijing mountains - Nanshan and Huaibei and was pleasantly surprised. In January, I also took a trip to Yabuli in Heilongjiang.

My quick feel on it? Well, many aspects are not comparable to the longer running and more developed resorts we're used to stateside, but there's definitely a growing scene here and the people seem cool. While service is not always the greatest, the rentals weren't too shabby and the resorts try to make it easy for people to get into the sport.

More posts to come about the different resorts and the overall experience of riding in China, but for now I'll leave you with this. While there are many things I would like them to improve, and although I wish there were more snowfall (mostly manmade around Beijing), there's something awesome to be said about being able to ride in the shadow of the Great Wall of China...
